Calcium Thiosulfate (CaTs)

6% Calcium (Ca), 10% sulfur (S)

Calcium thiosulfate is a neutral, colourless, chloride-free solution containing 6% w/w calcium and 10% w/w sulfur. In 1 litre of the product, 75 g of calcium (Ca) and 125 g of sulfur (S) are contained in the form of thiosulfate (thiosulfate sulfur). It can be applied to a wide variety of crops and due to the calcium and sulfur content, reduces the harmful effects of soil salinization and acts as a soil enhancer. It can be mixed with other liquid fertilizers or applied foliar to certain crops. Calcium thiosulfate in most crops is needed during intensive growth and early fruit set.

  • Improves soil structure through facilitating better soil moisture penetration
  • Stabilises and improves the absorption of soil nutrients (calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, iron and manganese)
  • Reduces soil acidity and washes away harmful salts
  • Improves fruit strength and increases shelf life
  • Improves cell structure and disease resistance
  • Helps the synthesis and functioning of enzymes and vitamins in the plant
  • Increases chlorophyll content
  • Supplies 100% of calcium and sulfur in ready to absorb form
  • Stimulates root growth

Application rate
Method of application
In furrow or when watering
50-140 l/Ha for row crops; 10 - 20 l for fruit crops
Apply as needed during the growth period. CaTs supplies the crop with absorbable calcium and facilitates the better water penetration into the soil.
Soil application
100-300 l/Ha
Calcium is 100% soluble which makes it more effective in removing sodium from lime. Apply with irrigation water to flush harmful salts from the soil.
Foliar*
5-40 l/ha per application
Apply as dilution of 20 - 30 l/ha in legumes, onions, potatoes and vines. In fruit trees, the concentration of CaTs depends on the crop and the age of the trees.
Drip irrigation *
10-50 l/ha per application
The number of applications depends on the crop growth stage and crop nutrition technology.

* If interested in specific dose rates, application time or integrated application as part of overall nutrition scheme, please contact our team of agronomists or send an enquiry HERE.

  • CaTs is compatible with all common fertilizer solutions. It is not compatible with fertilizers containing phosphates, sulfates and ammonium thiosulfate.
  • CaTs can be mixed with urea and ammonium nitrate or with urea solution in any proportions to provide nitrogen to the soil.
