Sembodja offers a selection of alfalfa seed by the French company Maisadour Group, which meets the highest up-to-date technological standards for this crop. Quality of the seeds and use of innovative techniques for their further processing is something we work on without compromise. Due to its ability to fix nitrogen (up to 46.5 kg/ha in one year; first among all legumes) through nitrogen-fixing bacteria forming tuber-like colonies in alfalfa roots, it is an excellent predecessor for all crops. Spring and summer-autumn sowing of alfalfa is possible depending on the climatic conditions and the preparation of the field.
The contemporary elite varieties provide more compact and faster initial development, better tolerance to certain stress factors (climatic stress and diseases), higher yield and better nutritional value of the biomass (high percentage of highly digestible proteins). Pre-treatment of seeds with microorganisms (inoculation) as well as nutrients allows for the young plants to have quick initial growth and higher yield at the first mowing by 5-10%.
