- 39% total active ingredient
- Nitrogen in the form of ammoniacal (50%) and nitrate (50%) nitrogen
- Nutrients in water-soluble form, making them immediately available to the plants.
- Provides fast and reliable nitrogen, calcium and magnesium nutrition
- The presence of calcium has a positive effect on the response and stability of soil structure and plant nutrition
- Calcium helps to improve transportation of carbohydrates and increase the solubility of nutrients in the soil, which are quickly absorbed by plants
- Under calcium deficiency, plant uptake of ammoniacal and nitrate nitrogen is strongly inhibited
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN)
The most common nitrogen fertilizer in most countries in Europe is calcium-ammonium nitrate, which contains 27% nitrogen and is suitable for all types of crops. It has similar characteristics to ammonium nitrate, but with the advantage that it does not acidify the soil and can be used on soils with more acidic and neutral reactions. CAN possesses excellent physical properties – it can be transported and stored in bulk, good granulometry allowing easy and uniform spreading in the field. Calcium-ammonium nitrate is used in all agricultural crops as well as in those with higher demand for calcium.
It is recommended to apply several times at a low dose rate (100 – 250 kg/ha) due to the rapid uptake of nitrogen. The total application rate depends on the crop type, soil structure and the total nitrogen applied.
